Windows 10 Anniversary update

Now that the free upgrade offer for Windows 10 has expired we start to look forwards to the next big thing. On this front there is not very long to wait at all, August the 2nd to be exact. This is when the ‘Anniversary update’ ill launch, it’s essentially what you would normally call a service pack and traditionally that marks the accepted milestone for maturity of a Windows release.

Today we’re excited to announce the next major update to Windows 10 – the Windows 10 Anniversary Update – is coming on August 2.

We are committed to delivering continuous innovation to you: including features that bring Windows Ink and Cortana to the mainstream; a faster, more accessible and more power-efficient Microsoft Edge browser; advanced security features for consumers and enterprises; new gaming experiences and new tools for the modern classroom. Everyone running Windows 10 will get these new features for free.

We’d like to say a special thank you to each of you who have upgraded to Windows 10.
